Les Éditions Lambert-Lucas ont été créées par Marc Lambert Arabyan et Geneviève Lucas à l’initiative d’une dizaine de professeurs universitaires spécialistes des sciences du langage (Michel Arrivé, de Paris X ; Éric Beaumatin, de Paris IV ; Frédéric François, de Paris V ; Brigitte Garcia, de Paris VIII ; Jean-François Jeandillou, de Paris X ; André Joly, de Paris IV ; Jean-Pierre Kaminker, de Perpignan ; Robert Lafont, de Montpellier III ; Vincent Lucci, de Grenoble III ; Mary-Annick Morel, de Paris III), dans le but de rééditer des classiques de la linguistique (Bréal, Whitney, Guillaume, Darmesteter, Meillet…) et d’éditer des thèses et des actes de colloques. De nombreux autres collègues les ont depuis rejoints, qui animent une vingtaine de collections.
