I am an international graduate student at Eastern Michigan University, finishing my Masters very soon. I am originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I grew up and lived until 2000. In Buenos Aires, I attended the University of Buenos Aires and majored in Biology and TESOL. In 2001, I transferred to EMU to finish my undergraduate studies in Linguistics and TESOL.

I started working at the Linguist List in 2004 and since then I have developed a new interest in the field. Computer programming was not a major interest of mine but I have now a friendlier relationship with it and recognize the advantages that it can provide to the different fields, such as Linguistics through LL.

I have been in charge of developing the website for the 2007 North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NAMCLO). It was a great challenge for me and I was more than happy to be involved in such a great attempt to promote Linguistics in high schools.

I have also developed, with the help of other crew members at different times, the Cambridge Extra Magazine site which was launched in Spetember 2007. This is a great resource that The LINGUIST List and Cambridge University Press have put together to bring special articles, free journal articles, contests and special offers to all linguists around the world.

My first and most loved activity is to spend time with my daughters Kayla, 4, and Maya, 1. As many linguists would do, I am constantly doing small research projects with them and their bilingual language acquisition. Hopefully, they won't need therapy when they get older! I also enjoy being with my husband Fabian and supporting him in his passion, track and field. I love playing basketball and soccer, baking cookies for the girls, knitting and doing thing outdoors.

Fun Facts:

  • I have played basketball for over 20 years and was in one of the top teams in Buenos Aires.
  • I have visited all states in Argentina.
  • My husband, Fabian, is an Olympian (Sydney, 2000).
