A colleague not on the list has asked me to pass this on.

A doctoral program at a small private graduate school in San
Francisco wants to offer a course in "Feminist Linguistics I: Language,
Gender & Power" during the W'95 Quarter on Wednesday afternoons,
but they haven't found anyone to teach it. They're looking for someone
already located in Northern California.

"Topics are broadly organised into three main focal areas: i)
background: how linguists analyze language; ii) pragmatics and
sociolinguistics: the role of group variation and discourse functions;
iii) gender and power as created, reinforced, and defined by language."

This could be a good opportunity, for a local advanced graduate
linguistics student or underemployed professional, to work with
mostly 'returning' graduate students with life/work experience.
Ph.D. preferred, no gender-discrimination in hiring.

If interested, please respond directly to Victoria Rue, Director,
Women's Spirituality Doctoral Programs, California Institute of
Integral Studies, 765 Ashbury St, San Francisco CA 94117. (415)
753-6100 x251. Or email victorir for more information.
