TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE: ESL PROGRAM Assistant Professor/ Instructor DUTIES: Candidate will be responsible for teaching English as a Second Language courses successfully. QUALIFICATIONS: Assistant Professor: Doctorate in TESOL or related field (e.g., applied linguistics). Instructor: Master's degree required, substantive progress toward doctorate preferred. A minimum of three years demonstrated experience, preferably in an urban college setting. Particular consideration will be given to specialists in the areas of ESL/content area instruction, assessment, or CAI. Applications are invited for the following position: THE UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA AT HOBART LECTURER (LEVEL B) IN JAPANESE (REF 105/92) Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Japanese in the Department of Modern Languages, within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, commencing in July 1993. The position may be offered on a tenurable or four year contract basis. The appointee will be required to implement and teach courses in the Japanese language and related subjects under the direction of the Head of Department at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee must possess a higher degree, or show good progress towards a PhD, in Japanese linguistics, literature or a related field. The appointee will have experience and a good record in teaching Japanese to adults. Salary will be within the Academic Level B range, AUD41,000-48,688 per annum.
