The Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics (MPIEA) in Frankfurt/Main is offering
for interdisciplinary research projects in the fields of aesthetic perception and evaluation of music, language and literature. The grants are for a period of three years with a possible extension of up to one year and are awarded to musicologists, literary scholars, linguists, psychologists, sociologists, ethnologists and neuroscientists.
Applicants should have excellent qualifications in their own special fields and submit an outline of their research project(s).
Qualifications: Graduation (Master or equivalent) in one of the above-mentioned fields.
Expectations include: very good grades, very good knowledge of English, the ability to work independently and creatively, an interest in working together with those in other fields, and a high level of social skills.
By virtue of its internal structure and its cooperation arrangements with other institutions of higher education the Institute will ensure that all grant-holders from all cooperating fields will always be sure of getting the right specialist contacts.
The Max Planck Society is anxious to take on more disabled persons. Applications from such persons are expressly desired.
The Max Planck Society would like to increase the proportion of women in those fields in which they are under-represented. Women are therefore expressly encouraged to apply.
Applications with the usual supporting documents and references (copies only, please) should be addressed by 05.07.2013 to
