The CMLP is an important event for the metaphor research community and the international Cognitive Linguistics community at large and will bring together researchers from different disciplines concerned with issues involving figurative language.
Call for Papers:
The conference is concerned with all aspects of Cognitive Linguistics, but, this year, it has a recurring theme of 'Metaphor: Culture and Nature'.
Abstracts for papers and posters are invited for submission in the general theme of the conference, dealing with all aspects of figurative language. Paper presentations will be given a 20-minute time slot with an additional 10 minutes for discussion. Posters will be allocated timetabled sessions, and will stay up for a day. Ongoing graduate research is also welcome and will be presented in a separate session.
An abstract of between 300 and 400 words (excluding references) should be submitted electronically to ivcmlpufrgs.br by April 15th, 2011 (e-mail subject: IVCML - submission of abstract). The abstract should contain the presentation title, and preference for paper, ongoing research or poster presentation session. such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
