The ACL 2008 workshop on software/grammar engineering, testing, and quality
assurance has extended its submission deadline to April 4, 2008.
Natural language, as an input type, has unique characteristics that present
special problems for software testing, quality assurance, and even
requirements specification. This workshop is intended to stimulate research
in all areas of software and grammar engineering for natural language
processing. Suggested topics include the following, but are not limited to
* Patterns for design, coding, refactoring, and unit testing language
* Test suite design and generation
* Special issues in metrology for natural language processing
* Grammar or other rule-based engineering
* Standardization of tools and/or resources
* Design for and evaluation of reliability and robustness
* Scalability issues in training and deployment
* Reusability and toolkit design
* Concurrency and distributed processing for NLP
* Theoretical issues in software engineering for NLP

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match any
gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your contacting
your human resources department and sending us a form that the EMU Foundation fills
in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative procedure
that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny.
Please take a moment to check if your company operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
