Position Opening for Fall 2008 Position: Lecturer of Language and Education (Non-renewable Term Position)* Position: The TESOL and Applied Linguistics Programs at Teachers College, Columbia are seeking a lecturer with demonstrated teaching experience and research interests in language pedadogy. The term for the position is one-year and the position is non-renewable. This is a one-year replacement position. Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in L2 methods, language teaching practicum and field work courses in either the MA general or K-12 tracks. The teaching load is five three-credit courses per academic year with the possibility of teaching summer courses for extra pay. Advise M.A. students and possibly serve on dissertation committees. Participate in routine program administrative activities. Maintain an active research interest and professional profile in TESOL/Applied Linguistics. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in TESOL/Applied Linguistics, evidence of scholarship potential in language pedagogy, a record of successful ESL/EFL teaching experience--preferably with some experience in US K-12 settings, experience supervising student teachers, demonstrated record of graduate level teaching, evidence of service to the field of TESOL/Applied Linguistics, ability to perform administrative duties, and ability to work collaboratively.
