Description:
Speech Recognition Engineer / Linguist - Grammar Development and Tuning
Location: Silicon Valley area (Position AXG-854)
Seeking an experienced Speech Engineer with a strong background developing
and tuning voice user interfaces that meet customer's goals of reducing costs
and increasing automation rates. You will aid in the design, development and
improvements of metrics yielding tools. Your creativity, ability to multitask,
prioritize, and follow on delivering a quality product will be an advantage in
this ever changing, fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Linguistics or Human Computer Interaction Degree (BS/MS)
- Understanding of speech recognition core technologies
- Experience performing quantitative usability analysis
- Experience with SQL, JSP, Java, Perl or other scripting languages
- Coursework in Phonetics
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Pluses:
- General system administration experience
- Experience in voice application tuning; experience in designing, implementing,
and reporting recognition experiments
- Experience with speech application design and prototype development
- IVR experience highly desirable
- Experience with variety of major speech vendor's offerings
- Customer interaction and relationship building experience
- Computer Science background (BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical
Engineering)
