 Description:
 
 The English Philology Department at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in
 Tarragona, Spain, announces the opening of a position ('Lector' level) in
 English Linguistics, preferably with an emphasis on applied aspects and language
 teaching, starting September 2005. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in English,
 Linguistics or a related field and be accredited by one of the Academic Quality
 Agencies in Spain (ANECA http://www.aneca.es/
 or AQU http://www.aqucatalunya.org).
 
 Responsibilities include teaching English Language and Linguistics courses
 (bachelors and masters level), supervising student work (graduate and
 undergraduate) and participating in the administrative duties of the department.
 Candidates are expected to provide proof of a strong research profile in English
 linguistics, especially in applied and/or experimental areas, and an interest in
 the teaching of English as a foreign language.  Knowledge of Spanish and/or
 Catalan will be especially appreciated.
