Assistant Professor of Linguistics and Language Development, Pedagogical
Grammar (Tenure Track)
Ph.D. in applied linguistics or related field by date of appointment,
August 1, 2005, with demonstrated expertise and research interests in
pedagogical grammar and one or more of the following areas: English for
Specific Purposes (ESP), English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Computer
Assisted Language Learning, Program development and evaluation, Second
Language Acquisition. Evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, and
awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural
student population as might be gained in cross-cultural study, training,
teaching and other comparable experience.
1) Teach introductory and advanced courses in applied linguistics to
students in the BA Linguistics and MA TESOL programs
2) Teach general education courses and developmental reading and writing
3) Advise students
4) Serve on department, college, and university committees
5) Scholarly publications
The normal teaching load is four three-unit courses per semester.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum
vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, three letters of recommendation,
and any representative publications.
