Candidates must have demonstrable interests in the study of human interaction and communication, and may have backgrounds in areas such as linguistics, psychology, anthropology, communication, or another relevant field. Command of a non-Indo-European language, experience in fieldwork, interaction-coding or relevant experimental methods could be an advantage. The project involves interdisciplinary investigation of the fundamentals of human interaction, with theoretical considerations such as 'theory of mind', multimodal integration of information, coordination of natural interaction, semantics/pragmatics interface.
