University or Organization: Brigham Young University Department: Linguistics and English Language Rank of Job: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: General Linguistics Description: The Department of Linguistics and English Language at Brigham Young University announces a tenure-track, professorial position in Linguistics, specialization open. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (or show strong promise of completion by the date of hire) in Linguistics or a related field. The Department offers an MA, BA, and undergraduate minor in Linguistics, an MA and undergraduate minor in TESOL, a BA in English Language, and an undergraduate minor in Editing. Primary responsibilities involve teaching graduate and undergraduate courses for majors and minors as well as non-majors. Additional expectations include supervising graduate students and publishing scholarly work. The person hired will also be expected to share other typical responsibilities such as committee service, student advising, and professional service. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
