The position runs through the end of September of 2000, with a possibility for an extension. Responsibilities: Participate in the development and testing of a German version of our information extraction application. Activities include creating, expanding and maintaining linguistic databases, performing linguistic analysis and implementation, evaluating results, and creating documentation for the project. Requirements: Native-level fluency in German. A degree or strong background in linguistics. Ability to communicate and work effectively in English. Familiarity with Unix and some computational skills in scripting and programming. Job experience in an area of linguistic technology or computational linguistics is a plus.
