The School of Education invites applications for a post in Language Education for appointment as soon as possible. We are seeking an established academic with a proven track record in research and teaching to contribute to leadership in language education. Qualifications and/or research interest in the theory and practice of early reading acquisition would be a strong recommendation. Bilingual and multilingual education would also be desirable. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to develop, teach and convene language education courses at postgraduate level, supervise student research and higher degrees, contribute to outreach and administration, conduct research, and undertake teaching practice supervision in schools. You should have an appropriate standing within the field. Requirements include: - A PhD degree; - An established (or in the case of a junior position, developing) track record in funded research, research-based refereed publications and experience with team research; - Good interpersonal, public relations and administrative skills; - Knowledge of language teaching methodology; and - Relevant teaching experience. Appointment will take place in alignment with the Faculty's criteria for promotion.
