Description:
Research in Text Classification and Paraphrasing The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium has an open position for a junior researcher working towards a PhD in computer science in the field of natural language processing. The candidate will conduct research on the following topics: algorithms for sentence compression, fusion and generation; algorithms for text segmentation and classification. The technology will be integrated in a question answering system that operates on informative Web pages. The research is done in collaboration with the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. The technology will be evaluated by the company Q-Go that is specialized in search technology. The successful candidate has a background in informatics, computer science or artificial intelligence and has (or is willing to acquire) a passive knowledge of the Dutch language.
