Invited Speakers: * Ping Li (Psychology, Richmond) * Maria Polinsky (Linguistics, Harvard) * Satoshi Tomioka (Linguistics, Delaware) * Lindsay J. Whaley (Linguistics and Cognitive Science, Dartmouth College) Topics: Abstracts are invited for oral presentations (20 minute talk with 10 minute discussion) or posters on all aspects of linguistics of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and other languages spoken in East Asia, including: syntax, semantics, morphology, phonology, phonetics, pragmatics, first and second language acquisition, neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics, computational linguistics, and language variation and change. In addition to regular conference sessions, there will be a special session on Experimental Approaches in East Asian Linguistics. There will be an award of a modest sum for the best student abstract. Instructions for Abstract Submission: Abstracts are not to exceed one page in letter-size (8.5''x 11'') paper with 1'' margins on all sides and 12pt font size, with an optional additional page for data and references. The abstract should have a clear title but should not identify the author(s). The abstract must be submitted electronically in PDF format, using the electronic submission website accessible from: http://www.sfu.ca/linguistics/iceal2/submit.html Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author, or 2 joint abstracts per author.
